“DIOnavi. changed the perception of a guided implant surgery system”

"The biggest advantage of 'DIOnavi.' is the variety of drill kits. Because of that, the system can be applied to any case"

Jeju Brothers Dental clinic(hereafter, called HJ Dental Clinic) is located in the center of Seogwipo-si, Jeju island. Dr. Ko Soohyun is in charge of the health of Jeju citizens, along with his younger brother of oriental medicine doctor sharing the same floor in a building.
Dr.Ko, who is native of Jeju, was always concerned about the accuracy of implant placement when opening his clinic in 2014, and as a result of using various guide systems, he chose DIOnavi., DIO's guided implant surgery system.
“I used other company's guide system in the beginning, but after experiencing several failures, I had a somewhat negative perception of a guided implant surgery system.” said Dr.Ko. "so in 2018, when we were curious about the DIO system that uses oral scanner 'Trios', we took a close look at DIO system's clinical cases, and drill precision and decided to bring it to the Clinic."
What were the advantages of "DIOnavi.", that changed Dr. Ko's mind about the negative views of the guided implant surgery system? He said the biggest advantage of 'DIOnavi.' is the 'drill kit'.

"DIOnavi." is very precise with little tolerance and it has a variety of drill steps that can be applied in a variety of cases." said Dr.Ko, and added that "the top-down 'DIOnavi.' system enables to decide the path and angle of the implant considering the position and shape of the upper prosthesis and reduces the burden on the implant.
Also, when restoring the upper prosthesis, it relieves the stress of the clinician so it is used with huge satisfaction."

In the meantime, "DIOnavi." has satisfied all of the accuracy, simplicity, and shortened treatment time that Mr. Ko had trouble with when using the conventional implant surgery.

He said, "All I could do was look at the CT when placing implants before, but now the process can be anticipated in advance, so the procedure time is reduced" and added, "With less chair time, the patient's time to open his mouth is decreased along with the pain.
The surgeon is also satisfied with dental management because he can see more patients."
100% digital system application
Currently, Dr.Ko is fully adapted to the guide system and uses the digital guide 100% when placing implants.

He said “Offset with various lengths and drills with different diameters makes it possible to be applied to many cases in various methods.
In difficult cases such as a narrow bone width, immediate implant placement after extraction, and bone with uneven surfaces, it is possible to place implant safely by changing the drilling sequence using the doctor's design to minimize errors.

Since last year, we brought in not only 'DIOnavi. but also, DIO UV implant, zirconia milling machine, 3D printer, and CAD/CAM to design and produce the guide in the clinic.
What's more, there was more word of mouth of patients, and the satisfaction of patients was also very high because the doctor takes on all responsibilities from implant placement to prosthesis placement.

Dr. Ko, who listened to lectures hosted by DIO held in Busan and Seoul, is now a speaker of a seminar himself in Jeju, where he is informing the advantages of navigation systems to other doctors.

He said, “Just like my philosophy of 'Listen to the needs of the patients', I will continue to study and strive to do the best in treating the patients." He also pledged to "keep on studying about the digital implantology and will try to become a front-runner in the dental industry in the future.'
