“For guided surgeries, 'DIOnavi.' is quick and accurate.”

Clarity Dental Clinic, located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, first opened for practice in July 2019.
Although it’s a fairly new clinic in town, it quickly established itself as a popular dental clinic visited by out-of-towners, thanks to its excellent attention to detail: △ Painless anesthesia and painless treatment protocol △ Dental control water purification system through regular filter management every month. Dr. Kook-hyun Kim, the chief clinician, commented, "Our dentist is providing all kinds of treatment, including implants and orthodontics, except for periodontal and prosthetics," and introduced his lineup of digital equipment such as oral scanners, CT, droplet lasers, and announced that Q-ray will be coming in soon.
Regarding the story of how he first started using digital equipment, Dr. Kim said, "We decided to build a new practice from ground up in consideration of recent trends that are sensitive to cutting-edge technologies beyond the existing classical methods." He explained the advantages of ‘DIOnavi.’ as he moved the topic of conversation on to digital navigation implant surgery, which has recently been spotlighted in the dental world.
“After 3D CT scan, simulation surgery is performed through computer, enabling precise surgical planning, reducing errors and maximizing efficiency. Once you get used to it, the margin of error is less than 1mm. So it might be the best option. Also, navigation implant surgery adds advantage in that it minimizes the incision of the gums and significantly reduces pain and treatment period compared to conventional implants.”
According to Dr. Kim, the number of dentists performing ‘DIOnavi.’ surgery in Daejeon is also on the rise. Among them, Clarity Dental Clinic is known as a fairly large hospital in the region, so many other clinics are following the steps for ‘DIOnavi.’ surgery.
“If you look at the people who visit our dentist these days, there are quite a few cases where they search for ‘navigation implant’ before visiting the clinic. In particular, the elderly search for it and find our clinic. I think they like the fact that the surgery is not as painful as expected, and the number of visits is greatly reduced in the age where time is money.”

Metal sleeve stabilizes the drill
Dr. Kim is a 'DIOnavi.' user. All his explanation above came from his own view on the characteristics of navigation implants based on the experience accumulated with ‘DIOnavi.’ in actual clinical practice.
After pondering over the implant guide system of several companies, he chose ‘DIOnavi.’ because DIO's know-how, a leading digital dentistry company, appealed to him in many ways. In particular, referring to the ‘metal sleeve’ system applied to the guide hole of ‘DIOnavi.’, he did not hide his satisfaction by saying, "The ability to hold the drill is excellent."
All guide systems try to minimize the tolerance between the drill and the guide hole to reduce the lateral movement of the drill. The problem is that friction with the hole occurs during drilling, causing wear on the guide hole and even unnecessary resin powder. Accordingly, DIO explained that ‘DIOnavi.’ applied a "metal sleeve" system to the guide hole to prevent such a problem.
Low-speed drilling also reduces the risk of excessive bone heating. Dr. Kim said, “The existing drilling method drills bones at a speed of 800 to 1200 RPM, but the DIO drills bones at a low speed, making less heating. Also, since it is a low speed, the drill is relatively stretched a little bit, but the accuracy has increased that much,” he emphasized.
DIO's clean interface was cited as the next advantage. If the dentist asks DIO for a guide to the surgery, it can easily obtain a large amount of data that DIO has accumulated through its website with a streamlined user interface.
Dr. Kim, who lists these advantages, makes sure to explain it to patients before the procedure because ’DIOnavi.’ is a highly reliable digital guide system.
UV Implant System pay attention to details
Dr. Kim is also using DIO's 'UV Implant System'. Regarding the 'UV Activator2', he said, "The degree of osseointegration of bones is discriminated in a good way. In actual clinical Field, you can observe saline attached to fixtures.” he praised.
Finally, Dr. Kim expressed strong trust in DIO's products such as ‘DIOnavi.’ and ‘UV Implant System’, saying, "I feel that they were made with attention to detail."
In addition, he added a word for clinicians who are worried about digital.
“Considering the current situation, I think digital dentistry is on the verge of an explosion. Of course, in the realm of digital dentistry, there are certainly areas that are not perfect. Also, when it comes to the degree of digital application, the situation will be different for each hospital. However, I think it will be possible to expand the range of digital clinics unique to the dentist in a form differentiated from other places that have undergone trial and error.”
