Confirmation of the world class prowess of digital implant, ‘DIOnavi.’
Korea 19 August, 2019
DIO is confident with its “incomparable 100% digitalization with overwhelming precision”
Digital implant, ‘DIOnavi.’ that DIO launched in 2014, is proving its world class prowess through its
overwhelming precision and stability. DIOnavi. is the most widely used representative digital guide system in
Korea. It surpassed the 200,000 accumulated implants in October last year following the 100,000 implants in
2017. DIO showed confidence that the company will record the highest performances in its history with the
forecast to surpass the 400,000 accumulated implants using DIOnavi. this year.
DIOnavi., likely to continue
with its trend of sensational growth, setting a new syndrome
DIO disclosed that, “DIOnavi. is continuing with its trend of sensational growth by transcending the growth
achieved over the last 3 years only within the last year, thereby setting a new syndrome,” and that,
“In particular, we are looking forward to achieving the highest performances in our history with the forecast
to surpass the 400,000 accumulated implants this year.”
They explained that this is possible because DIOnavi. is equipped with a drilling system that boasts
overwhelming precision.
It is not an overstatement to say that the precision of implant placement is determined at the moment of the
first drilling because it is possible to achieve precision drilling in the desired direction until the final
drilling only if the initial drilling is precise and accurate.
DIOnavi. fully focused on achieving the utmost precision in the 1st drilling. In particular, it must be noted
that the ‘drill tube’, which is not available in the systems of other companies, is the secret to achieving
the best precision.
Drill tube eliminates shaking or movement at the time of drilling by widening and closely adhering to area of
contact between the drill and tube. It is composed of 3 types of systems that uses long tube with length of
12mm for the anterior teeth and medium tube with length of 9mm for premolar teeth by more closely adhering
the contact area as the length of drill tube gets longer, and by substituting with 2.0 ×5㎜ guide drill instead
of using drill tube for patients with inadequate oral opening.
Interested party of DIO emphasized that, “In addition to its longer length, the drill tube is designed with
the structure of being inserted into the punched soft tissues, thereby focusing on the convenience for the
limitations on oral opening along with the foremost precision,” and that, “It is being received highly
favorably by the industry due to its differentiated excellence in all aspects including precision and convenience.”
He further explained that, “The drill tube is the culmination of all the precision processing technologies
in Korea in order to eliminate errors with the allowance of the drill tube and the guide is 0.01㎜, which is
the minimum allowance that can be achieved with the present processing technologies available in Korea,” and
that, “There has been research results that this arithmetically translates to the error in the range of less
than 1º (average error in the angle of DIOnavi. is 0.4º) while there is an error of about 5 in the event of
drilling without the use of the drill tube.”
OFFSET system customized to
the patient also played a role
DIOnavi. differentiated sleeve offset for each case. Therefore, it is possible to flexibly apply the system
even if there is interference from the neighboring teeth or limits in the oral opening.
For the general cases, the basic offset value is set at 9㎜, 10.5㎜ or 12㎜, while the basic offset value is set
at 12㎜ and 8㎜ for narrow and wide cases, respectively. As such, it is able to execute implanting precisely by
maximally lowering the height of the guide in order to harmoniously assist with procedures on the molar
tooth. In addition, since the sleeve offset value is patent registered with the concept that sufficiently
considers the situations of the users, it is difficult for the competitors to approach the development of
similar concept easily.
The foremost feature of DIOnavi. is the 100% digitalization of all cases including the edentulous cases.
By having fully digitalized the entire processes for the product ranging from ‘In Put Data’ to ‘Out Put Data’,
it is possible to execute the entire treatment processes through the use of digitalized data and assess the
location, angle and depth of the placement that are most appropriate for the oral structure and ulitis of
individuals through 3D simulation surgical procedure prior to the actual surgery.
Therefore, a wide range of selection can be made in accordance with the given cases including immediate placement
for edentulous jaw patient or following lifting of maxillary sinus or tooth extraction, etc. as well as cases
with narrow bone width and interdental space, molar section with small oral opening and case that needs immediate
prosthesis after placement in the lower section, etc.
Full Arch of DIOnavi. is drawing further attention due to the fact that it has ‘fully digitalized’ the entire
processes including the scanning and planning of denture for edentulous jaw patient, production of guide,
surgical procedure and final prosthesis.
It is possible to conveniently acquire the oral cavity information of the edentulous jaw patient from outside
the oral cavity, and to accurately acquire vertical dimensions and occlusion data with the gum of the edentulous
jaw patients by using the denture of the existing patient or the ‘Wax Denture’ developed by DIO.
An interested party of DIO stated that, “It can overcome the difficulties and errors generated in scanning for
edentulous jaw cases suffered by the surgeons using oral scanner,” and that, “Such full digitalization format
can not only shorten the surgery time but also reduce the number of visits to the hospital that patients need
to make, as well as enable solve the problems in the complicated acquisition of dental impressions and
production of prosthesis in analogue format, and production of precise final prosthesis easily and quickly.”
Taking up the challenge
for Zero ‘Bone Heating’
DIOnavi. recommends low speed drilling (100rpm) and non-injection of water at the time of drilling given
the outstanding cutting power of the drill used exclusively for the system. It is possible to prevent
bone heating and removal of particles from bone cavity by injecting saline solution with dedicated syringe
of DIOnavi. for each drilling sector.
Moreover, safe drilling is made possible due to ease of securing view of the area of drilling by the
surgeon since water is not sprayed at the time of drilling. It is also possible to resolve the discomfort
in breathing by patients having difficulties in breathing through the nose due to rhinitis, etc.
Mr. Jin-Baek Kim, the general president of DIO, disclosed the ambitions of the company that,
“DIOnavi. is on the track for rapid growth in earnest in overseas markets focused on the USA and China,”
and that, “We will continue to invest into R&D in preparation of the full scale growth in the future and
devote all our capabilities to firm up our status as the leading company in digital dentistry in the world.”
